Driver Etiquette

Your Driver Your Car expect the participating drivers to treat their clients with class.

A Personal Driver is more than just driving a person from one destination to another, it’s about the ride.  Making a client feel special will cause them want to utilize your service again.  This is how you will build a booming Personal Driver business with Your Driver Your Car by putting client’s needs first.

  • Private means private.
A driver will never tell anyone what you spoke of in a car. A real driver minds his business in silence unless a client starts a conversation. Private information always stays private.  Repeating what was heard on a trip can cause you to loose clients and you will break the Private Driver’s code.
  • When coming in contact with a fellow driver or friend .
The driver should give a silent node to greet a fellow driver or friend when a driving a client. No outside conversation is allowed when a client is present.
  • Greeting your client. How you greet your client is really important and sets the tone of the drive. My name is … and I’ll be your driver today.”
Always introduce yourself, make sure that a client is the right person before they go any further. It’s a required procedure for any driver, no matter how long they have been in this field.

Here are a few things to keep in mind before picking up your client:

  • Become familiar with the client’s car.
Drivers are expected to be familiar with a car they drive, however, as a personal driver, you will drive many different cars and be expected to be familiar with each car. Before arriving to a client’s place, become familiar with the car you will be driving and learn the peculiarities of it.
  • Chauffeurs will always get the door, as a personal driver, you should too.
Always make an attempt to open a door for a client. Even if they tell they’ll do it themselves, you should at least try.
  • Conversation with a client
The driver should know the clients destination and the particulars before he/she arrives. Before a ride, a driver can ask a few short questions (e.g. if you know a short cut to their destination, or, would their be additional stops).   Drivers should not initiate small talk or start chit-chatting. Sometimes clients are up for a conversation, but in that case, they should initiate it themselves.
  • The driver should arrive early.
Always arrive about 5 to 10 minutes early. Being late is never permissible. It’s important to remember that the client is on a schedule and sometimes every minute counts.  If your pickup is schedule during high traffic time, check with the client prior to arrival to ensure high traffic conditions have been factored into their travel time.

There is a distinct difference between a driver and a chauffeur, Your Driver Your Car expect the participating drivers to treat their clients as though they are being chauffeur driven.

Your Driver Your Car expect drivers to possess manners and treat each client as though they are special, and you appreciate their allowing you to utilize their car to drive them to their destination.
